Dear friends and family,
After a busy couple of months preparing for and welcoming many new arrivals to the field, we are happy to have most of them here and settling in. We were well taken care of upon our arrival, and we enjoyed being able to pass on the care to other newcomers. Many of them were with us for our last semester in Quebec, so we were greeting friends. Kira and Brynn were especially excited at the arrival of Chad and Amanda Winsor yesterday- and more importantly their two children, Morgan and Shelby! Thank you for your prayer during this busy time.We covet your prayer now in another area as well. Many of you are aware of the three year battle Kevin's mom has been fighting with ovarian cancer. This last couple of weeks have brought many changes in her condition. They have decided to stop the chemotherapy, as it is no longer being effective against the cancer. In the past several days the news from MA has been getting more and more serious. Kevin and Ian(Kevin's brother) were able to get tickets for this Friday, August 18th to go back to visit her, and be with the family. At this point they plan to stay three weeks. Please pray for Mom as she is becoming more and more uncomfortable as the cancer progresses. Kevin's dad says she is looking forward to heaven when the Lord calls her. Pray for Kevin and Ian, that they will arrive in time to talk with their mom, and spend some time with her. Pray for the family in this difficult time, especially Kevin's dad. Also, please pray for Beka and I, as we stay here in Niger with our six little kids. It is hard to let Kevin and Ian go alone in this difficult time, yet it's not reasonable for us all to join them.Thank you for partnering with us, and upholding us in prayer in this difficult time. We appreciate you bringing these things before the Lord for us.
In Christ,
Krista for the family
